Insects
Infest Ebonvale
Friday night of the gather was met with SWARMS of
many insects. They attacked several adventurers as they were coming
down the hill into Ebonvale. Locals stated the bugs were not
indigenous to the area. One adventurer reported that the insects
were emerging from a crack outside the tavern and that these
creatures were not ordinary bugs that you can just swat away-there
were wasps, ants, beetles and strange combinations of the three.
They attacked with fire and lightning and some could resist and
phase against the adventurers’ counter attacks. The creatures were
eventually overcome on Saturday, when the adventurers delved into
the hive but it took much effort. The citizens and Guilds of
Ebonvale extend their thanks to the adventurers.

Baroness
Josephine Felker Rescued From Dream Plane
Baroness Josephine Felkler has been safely
returned to Aeran’Or after extraordinary efforts of several recent
adventurers, Guildmaster Krossus Blackhammer; gypsies Cade and Sarin
Mierlaishte and Grandmaster Alchemist Clarion and Jessenia
Wrenfeather Zoucha; and others: Echo, Mythran, Mateas, Beauregard,
Nayelia, Valacar the Red, and Uruku. A guildmaster of Ebonvale
recruited the adventurers because the Baroness had been in a deep
sleep for a long time from which she could not be awakened by any
means. Apparently, everyone has a dream pod on the dream plane where
creatures enter your pod to influence your dreams when you are
asleep. The guildm aster
thought something was keeping the Baroness from returning to this
realm so she could awaken. He requested the adventurers to enter the
dream plane and bring the Baroness back. The party used The Keep of
Dreams, an artifact recently acquired from an old family tomb, to
enter a planar gate to the dream realm and enter the Baroness’s
dream pod. The party saw four different stages of the Baroness’s
life, when she was six, ten, a teenager, and an adult. Some stages
were scary and some were not so bad. In one stage, she was being
hounded by wolves. In another, she was playing with a young Joshua
Pritchard. She had to be persuaded in each stage to leave the area
in order for the party to move to her next dream stage. Along the
way, the party fought dream elementals and imps posing as memories
in the Baroness’s dreams. This was difficult because some spells
would not work, as they would back on Tyrra. The most effective
spells seemed to be “Dispel Magic” and “Awaken.” The first spell
would reveal the creature as to who he really was and the second
would wake adventurers who had suffered a sleep attack.
In the last dream sequence, the Baroness was rescued from a scene
with a person that seemed to be Joshua Pritchard. More dream
creatures were fought as the party left the area, as they did not
want the lady to leave.

Rumors
| ~Never travel the hill of Ebonvale
alone at night. The crimson mist always lurks near the
large field.~
|
|
~Apparently, gypsy Cade
Mierlaishtie, was having a little too much fun with the
Hobgoblins in Ebonvale one night recently in early
September .
He hacked the limbs from one and taunted and watched in
amusement as the creature struggled to move before
bleeding to death. A bloody mess was all over the tavern
floor. Later outside the tavern, Cade attacked another
hobgoblin without his weapons, which were left in the
tavern, despite warnings from fellow adventurers.
Unbeknownst to Cade, another Hobgoblin was hiding behind
a nearby narrow tree with a huge sword sticking out. He
came up behind Cade and was almost slaughtered. Luckily,
the gypsy has friends and familia that are healers.
Perhaps, this crazy gypsy cannot handle his hooch, and
what’s with the chicken? Is it a weapon or the new
familia symbol of the Mierlaishties? He also tried
assaulting Hobgoblins with it. ~ |
|
~Speaking of hobgoblins, another adv enturer
from the recent gathering in Ebonvale has a fondness for
Hobgoblin hearts. The beautiful elf Echo would attack
the monsters with her spells and then cut out their
hearts and eat them raw. It should make a monster think
twice about attacking her. She is inclined to sharing,
though. She taught warrior Valacar the Red to enjoy the
hearts as well.~ |
|
| ~The mighty warrior, Ethir has many
children amongst the citizens of Aeran’Or. Can’t you see
the resemblance?~ |
|
| ~Rumor is that Ash’s wife Rumor and
their baby were last seen deep in the sewers of Freeton.
What kind of mother takes a baby into the sewers of
Freeton?~ |
|
| ~Perhaps Valacar the Red, who is
entering into the service of Aeran’Or, should change his
name to Valacar the Magic Eater (sounds more menacing,
right?). He was hit with a spell right in the kisser
while trying to help his party rescue Baroness Josephine
from the Dream Plane. For those that are wondering, he
reported that the spell tasted a little seedy...~ |
|
| ~All dark elves hate sunlight because
they are all minions of evil powers and bear the eternal
curse of evil.~ |
|
~The Earth mage Beauregard recently was
sentenced by Lord Pritchard to execution and loss of all
worldly possessions for
casting necromancy. Was it really Lord Pritchard who
handed down the sentence or his impostor from the Dream
Plane? ~ |
|
| ~Why do Elysian heralds keep shouting
their news in Aeran’Or? Are they taking over? Why
doesn’t the queen do something?~ |
|
| ~Could this Mucklachuck of the Ogres
have anything to do with the conjured creatures of the
Dream Plane kidnapping our Baroness and possibly Lord
Pritchard? Rumor has it that some of the adventurers in
Ebonvale that disappeared briefly on Saturday night of
the gather are involved somehow.~ |

Upon the conclusion of the last gather, it was found that Lord

upon the imposter. Any matters that had been brought during this
time period should be addressed directly to the Baroness

Scholar Faces One
Execution for Casting Chaos Magic
During a recent battle that took place in
Aeran’Or, a human Earth scholar, Beauregard, was witnessed by
gypsy Clarion Zoucha (Zook) casting a “Cause Light Wounds” spell
on an Insectoid creature. Zook reported the crime to Guildmaster
Krossus of the Death’s Head Mercantile. After the battle,
Blackhammer took Beaur egard
to the tavern where he was brought up on charges in front of
Knight Leftenant Joshua Pritchard. Beauregard stated he did use
the spell, but thought it was only illegal when used to aid
undead creatures.
The law states it is illegal to use chaos magic in any
circumstance. Blackhammer said ignorance of the law is no
excuse. The Leftenant said Beauregard did not act with malicious
intent. The Leftenant then questioned Zook for his side of the
story, as he was the one who witnessed Beauregard cast the spell
in the first place. Beauegard was finally charged with one count
of casting chaos magic. He then immediately received his
sentence of one execution and loss all of all his worldly
possessions. He later was resurrected. A reminder to all
citizens and travelers in Aeran’Or, ignorance of the law is no
excuse when a law has been intentionally or unintentionally
broken. Copies of the laws can be obtained at most guilds as
well as in the Royal Library.
